Joseph Cavalieri
"Form and Fabricate"
Stained Glass
June 3 - 7, 2024 (5-day workshop)

This class encompasses all aspects of making a stained-glass panel, from design and production, to mounting the work in a 12-by-12-inch frame illuminated with LED lighting. Many samples will be made in class, and one frame with LED lights will be provided to each student to professionally display their artwork.

Techniques covered include painting, pen-and-ink drawing, atomizing, air brushing, silk screening (with screens Joseph will bring), mounting and lighting. Joseph will provide technical and design advice before and during class.

Enamels are painted then kiln fired onto the surface of the glass, then the glass is soldered together. The choice of imagery is totally up to the
students imagination, like a favorite fable, book, movie or themes seen in their past work.

Joseph will also present his "Marketing for Artists" and "Advice on Art Residencies" lectures.

This course is open to all levels, including beginners!

This class meets from 9am to 5pm each day, Monday through Friday, with additional studio time Monday through Thursday, from 5pm to 9pm. Materials for participating in the course are included. If you have specific colors you are interested in working with please bring them with you.
